What a Night of Creativity!!!

When I tell you that I had a great night of creativity, I hope it makes you just as excited as I was and still am!  I had to make myself go to bed otherwise I would have been up ALL NIGHT sketching.  WOW!  I can't wait to get back the sketch pad, hopefully sometime during the day today but if not, I will definitely be putting in more work tonight!!!  I am learning that creating a collection is a lot like writing a book.  It takes time, creativity, patience, and most of perseverance.  Just like writers get writer's block, fashion designers do as well.  Thank God I haven't hit that wall yet.  I am truly enjoying this experience!  Until next time, ciao!

Excitement!

Every time I think about how much closer I am getting to getting my collection completed I get so excited!!  I wish I could show you all what I've done so far but, of course, I wouldn't dare do that just yet :-)  It will all be worth the wait.  I have to keep telling myself that to stay focused.  Stepping outside my comfort zone with this project has been a wonderful experience, more self discovery.  I'm loving this chapter of my life and I can't wait to share it with the world.

Did you miss me?!

I missed being here. I'm back and I have been a sketching queen the past couple of days. It's funny how taking a break can really bring out the creativity. I sketched a whole outfit from the dress to the shoes to the handbag, a formal evening gown, and a few other dresses and suits with scarves. I can hardly wait to get those sewn up! Just part of my debut collection. This part is so exciting!!!

Class and Elegance

So, the weekend was full of events. Saturday morning I purchased some awesome designing software which I am so excited to receive later this week. I also attended a fashion show Saturday night. I can honestly say I learned about what I DON'T want to do as far as my line is concerned. The more research I do in this business the more I learn about myself and my own personal style. Having a classy sense of style may equal boring to some but it's something that has withstood the test of time of all fashion eras. Adding an "elegant edge" is the cherry on top. Class and elegance...two things that never go out of style.

Having said that, this is the next piece of fabric on which I will be working in the weeks to come.

Under Construction

I worked on the beginnings of my website yesterday afternoon. It's coming along nicely. I can hardly wait for it launch but first things first. There's still so much to do before getting to that point. It was fun being creative and coming up with new ideas. Today I'll be working on sketching some new designs. I can hardly wait to get a full collection together. Stay with me...it will be worth it, I promise!!!

Back to it!

I decided to take off the weekend and just rest. I suppose I was forced to do so since my body wouldn't allow any more from me until I got some rest. No sketching, researching, reading, NOTHING! Today I plan to do more research and reading up on some things. I did almost finish a skirt last night though. I just need a zipper to complete it which I plan to get this evening. Yesterday I spent most of the day doing research on the things that need to be in place in moving forward with N’cholé Féroce. I know these things are necessary but UGH! Who has time to read all the fine print?? I do and I will. It's things like this that separate the serious from the wannabes in this industry. Patience and perseverance will prevail.
